Left: Our little old 7' cultivator with harrows does a good job of seedbed preparation. While we want to eliminate germinating weeds, we also want to preserve as much soil moisture as possible. Here we've just finished preparing the plot for glads, lilies and dahlias.

Right: Well sprouted seed Russet potatoes. This seed must be hand planted to avoid sprout breakage, however, it will reach maturity much sooner. We've also got Yukon Gold and Red Norland potatoes planted. All of our potato seed is Certified as to variety. Search the Agriculture Canada website for "certified seed" if you want a better understanding of Certified Seed. As part of our organic transition, the seed is untreated.
